Danish Prime Minister Rasmussen in India

New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): Danish Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen who is on a three day visit to India from Thursday, will make an effort to speed up negotiations on climate deal ahead of a key summit in Copenhagen in December.
Rasmussen’s will have discussion with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Rajendra Pachauri.
Denmark and India are likely to sign an accord on environment during Rasmussen’s visit.
India, fears that the fight against global warming will hamper its economic development and has insisted that wealthy, developed nations take responsibility for the consequences of climate change.
Rasmussen said on Tuesday, that negotiations were possible at the Nordic Climate Solutions Conference in which decision-makers and businessmen are participating.
“It’s very difficult because these are not just issues concerning climate,” but also economy and technology, Rasmussen added. (ANI)
