Daniel Craigs mum almost never let him become BondNovember 3rd, 2008 - 1:37 pm ICT by ANI
London, November 3 (ANI): Bond star Daniel Craig might have ended up going to a university fulfilling his mums dreams had he not decided to pursue theatre.
The 40-year-old, who quit his A-levels aged 16 to attend a drama school, had been discouraged by his mum, Carol, who told the Brit that qualifications on bits of paper would not make him an actor.
The 61-year-old Carol revealed that she respected and believed in her sons capabilities, yet she couldnt stop herself from worrying when he announced his acceptance into the National Youth Theatre .
It must have been hard for him. He knew I had my heart set on university for him. I knew he was clever enough to go, so giving up his A-levels wasnt an easy decision, the Daily Star quoted her as saying.
I didnt want this to be a kind of whim. I knew he had potential. I didnt want to see it wasted. I knew in my heart he would make it, but you worry as a mother, she added.
Craigs recent Bond flick Quantum Of Solace has recently rocked the box office collecting a staggering 4.9 million pounds on its opening day, displacing former record-holder Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fires collection of 4.25 million pounds. (ANI)
