Dalai Lama’s intention to choose his successor gets exiled Tibetans’ support
November 26th, 2007 - 6:53 pm ICT by admin ( 2 comments )Dharamsala, Nov 26 (ANI): Tibetans-living-in-exile in Dharamsala, have supported the Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama’s recent announcement suggesting that he might appoint a successor before his death instead of relying on reincarnation.
The Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, had told a Japanese newspaper during a visit to Tokyo that Tibetans would not accept a successor who was selected by China after his death.
The Chinese government is wary of the present Dalai Lama since the time when he fled to Tibet in 1959 after a failed uprising against Chinese rule.
The selection of lamas has since become a sore point between the Tibetans and the Chinese authorities.
Supporting the decision taken by the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan Prime Minister-in-exile Sam Dong Rimpoche said, “For quite some time, his holiness was thinking in these terms, because of the PRC’s (People’s Republic of China) attitude about the recognition of reincarnations.”
“To keep this tradition of Dalai Lama intact, unpolluted, the present Dalai Lama must have taken an appropriate decision without giving a chance to PRC authorities to interfere in the recognition of Dalai Lama,” he added.
In 1995, the Dalai Lama and Chinese authorities chose rival reincarnations of the 10th Panchen Lama, who had died in 1989. The 6-year-old anointed by the Dalai Lama disappeared from public view, and is thought to have lived under house arrest ever since.
Government regulations that came into force on September 1 make reincarnations of “living Buddhas” in Tibet who fail to get Chinese government approval illegal and invalid. (ANI)

The selection of the new Dalai Lama should not be done by the present one.The Dalai Lama is a fake religious leader.
The Dalai Lama makes up the rules as he goes along. What does the Lama care if he ignores Buddhist tradition. He has been doing it for years now. Buddhism represents peace, but this Lama admits in his own book, Freedom in Exile, of accepting millions of dollars to train an insurgency army against the Chinese. Buddhism represents justice, but the Dalai Lama only sides with unjust villains such as Nazi SS officer Dr. Bruno Beger (convicted Nazi War criminal and top Dalai Lama adviser); Storm Trooper and Nazi SS officer, Heinrich Harrer, another top adviser; Shoko Asahara, the Tokyo subway poisoner who received Lama praised after giving him over 1,000,000 dollars; Augustine Pinochet, the “Butcher of Chile” who was able to avoid a mass murder trial thanks in part to the Lama. The Dalai Lama lives his life in deceit and hypocrisy and has fooled many people in the west. Truth, that whole parapragh was filled with lies and slander.
The Chinese invaded Tibet and slaughtered millions. The CIA set up a program in Colorado to stop communism invading Tibet even more.
With Augusto Pinochet, the Dalai Lama said this: “I think forgiveness is important, but forgiveness does not mean to forget about what happened.”
If you have no idea of what your saying, and are just doing it to get people riled up, here is a better suggestion, be quiet.
