New Delhi, Jan 23 (ANI): Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama has said conflicts should give way to peace to ensure a better future.
“This century should be genuine peaceful century. Now, what we have learnt from previous century in order to solve problems? We use violent methods. As a result millions of people get killed and suffer. And the basis of problem is still not solved, it’s still there,” he said in an address to the Global Foundation for Civilizational Harmony.
The Dalai Lama and former president APJ Abdul Kalam earlier inaugurated the foundation. A book titled ‘Transcending Conflicts - Indian and Eastern Way’ was also released.
Modern age gurus like Sri Sri Ravishankar and Ramdev, noted intellectuals, academicians, thinkers and professionals from around the world were present on the occasion.
The Dalai Lama had fled into exile in 1959 following a failed uprising against Chinese rule.
He has set up his seat of power in Dharamsala, which is regarded as the hub of Tibetan culture. (ANI)
