New Delhi, Aug 16 (ANI): The Congress Working Committee (CWC) is expected to hold a meeting on Monday evening to finalise the schedule for the election of the Congress President.
Sonia Gandhi is set to be elected to the post for the fourth time in a row after taking over the reins of the Congress party in 1998 in the wake of the party’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha polls that saw the exit of Sitaram Kesri from the post.
Gandhi has created a record of being the longest-serving Congress President and completed over a decade since she took over the top post.
Her fourth term, though a foregone conclusion is significant in the context of history of the grand old party. (ANI)
