Curfew imposed in Kashmir valley to prevent separatist march
October 12th, 2010 - 2:11 pm ICT by ANISrinagar, Oct 12 (ANI): Curfew was imposed across the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday to scuttle a protest march in Srinagar called by separatists.
Hurriyat leader Masarrat Aalam has given the call for the march to protest the house arrest of the Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Gilani, who has been under house arrest for almost a month now
According to official sources, a large number of security force personnel have been deployed across the city. Curfew was strictly being implemented in civil lines areas of the city, especially areas adjoining Hyderpora.
Instructions have been issued to all concerned security force personnel to treat examination admit cards of students and identity cards of the staff of the education department as curfew passes.
This has been done to ensure that examinations are held smoothly and students do not face any difficulty on account of the restrictions. (ANI)
