CPI(M) discusses Lalgarh situation in the capitalJune 19th, 2009 - 11:31 pm ICT by ANI
New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): While security persons continued their operations to flush out Maoists from Lalgarh in West Bengal on Friday, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Politburo held a detailed discussion on the latest developments there.
The meet also reviewed its organisational problems that led to its worst-ever poll performance.
During the meet, senior party leaders quoted Maoist statements to say that their charges that Mamta-led Trinamool Congress was aiding and abetting the extremist outfit had been vindicated.
“The Game plan of Trinamool Congress and its ‘rainbow coalition’ has been exposed. He (Maoist leader Kishanji) has said we helped them in Nandigram and now we seek their (TC) help in Lalgarh. We have been saying this since long,” said Biman Bose, politburo member and West Bengal leader.
The members expressed concerned of party leaders and talked about finding ways and means to tackle the Maoist violence which they alleged was being “actively” backed by Trinamool Congress to “destabilise” the Left Front government in West Bengal. (ANI)
