Congress to start seat sharing talks after February 26

New Delhi, Feb. 22 (ANI): The Congress will begin the seat sharing talks with allies for the upcoming General Elections after February 26 at the end of 14th Lok Sabha term.
We want to start talks with allies at a time when there will be no pressure on us in the Parliament, Shakeel Ahmed, the Congress spokesperson said.
The talks will be carried out by concerned AICC General Secretaries, PCC chiefs and other senior party leaders, Ahmed added.
Partys decision to go for a national alliance, and instead go for state specific tie-ups has not gone down well with some UPA (United Progressive Alliance) allies.
The supporting parties are now drawing up counter strategies.
RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’’s recent statement, in which he termed the left parties as permanent friends and natural allies, is the latest example of an ally reaching out to secular parties.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar, too, has said that his party was open to tie up with outfits other than the BJP in a changed scenario. (ANI)
