Congress lodges complain against BJP for linking Sonia with Afzal GuruDecember 14th, 2007 - 9:16 pm ICT by admin
New Delhi , Dec 14 (ANI): The Congress party today lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against the Bharatiya Janata Party for linking their party president Sonia Gandhis with Afzal Guru.
Guru is a main convict in the Parliament attack.
We have given one CD which captures Modis speech and violates the Clause two by attacking Congress President and linking Afzal Gurus name with Sonia, Congress spokesperson Abhisekh Manu Singhvi told a press conference.
The BJPs poster that talks about the parliament attack is an attempt to spread hatred and enmity between two communities and violates the rules and regulation, he added.
We will be able to defeat the demonic Modi, said Chairman of the Administrative Reform Commission Veerappa Moily.
The Congress party has reportedly reacted in somewhat similar tone by issuing posters carrying the photograph of Masood Azhar — who was released by the BJP led NDA government in Kandahar in 1999.
The advertisement also talks about the former Union Home Minister L K Advanis visit to Pakistan to bow down at the grave of Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
First phase of polling in 87 out of 182 Assembly Constituencies were held on Tuesday.
The BJP managed to win 127 seats, while the Congress party was able to win only 51 seats in the 2002 Gujarat Assembly polls. The Janata Dal (United) and independents won two seats each.
The second phase of polling for the remaining 95 seats will be held on December 16, while the counting for votes will take place on December 23. (ANI)
