Congress launches advertisement campaign

New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): Congress party launched its advertisement campaign for the upcoming general election on Friday. Aiming to spice up its election campaign, the Congress party has also bought the rights to “Jai Ho,” the Oscar-winning song from “Slumdog Millionaire.” Talking to reporters here Party spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan said that the campaign focuses on the party’’s achievement down the years. “This is an era of coalition and I would like to point out that we have made a tremendous success of UPA coalition, running a coalition government so we will make strategic alliances with like minded parties who subscribe to secular policy and vision that Congress has for the nation and in making these alliances we hope we will address every section and every region in our country,” Natarajan added. Natarajan also said that her party will not have any tie-up with Orissa’’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), which walked out of the main opposition alliance last week. “We are the principal opposition party and we have no understanding with Naveen Patnaik’’s party and we will fight them in Lok Sabha elections,” she said. India will hold a general election between April 16 and May 13 in a mammoth logistical exercise in which 714 million people will cast their votes. (ANI)
