Congress criticizes Lefts timing of withdrawal of supportJuly 8th, 2008 - 4:45 pm ICT by ANI
New Delhi, July 8 (ANI): The Lefts timing of announcement of withdrawal of support to the Government following Prime Minister Manmohan Singhs declaration of going ahead with the Indo-US nuclear deal, was criticized by the Congress today.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) Media Department Chairman Veerappa Moily said: “When the entire nation is mourning for those killed in the Kabul blast, the Left has chosen to make the announcement. It is most unfortunate. They think their prestige is more important than the nation’’s prestige.”
Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi called an emergency meeting of senior leaders to take a view on the situation.
A meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) is scheduled to be held on Tuesday evening, which will decide on the dates for the monsoon session of Parliament. (ANI)
