Clinton to reach out to Indians through new media

New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): The first visit to India by Hillary Clinton as U.S. Secretary of State will not only be covered by the traditional press,but also by the online media community.
According to a US Embassy press release, the Secretary will be covered on hot new social networking sites “Twitter,” “Flickr,” and “Facebook.” The “Americagov” Twitter feed (http://twitter.com/americagov) will be following the Secretary every step of the way during her activities in Mumbai and New Delhi.
Clinton’s fans and participants at all of her India events will be using the “Twitter” hash tag address #HillaryIndia to follow and comment on the issues addressed during her visit. They will also be posting both professional and cell-phone photos on “Flickr” using the same tag, #HillaryIndia.
She can be followed on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/ejournalUSA). The State Department websites www.state.gov and www.america.gov will provide the texts of her speeches and photos, and her activities will be covered via the Department of State’s weblog “Dipnote,” at http://www.blogs.state.gov.
A big fan of new media social networking tools, Secretary Clinton encourages friends around the world to use new media to discuss important issues and share photos of her India activities, the embassy release said. (ANI)
