December 20th, 2009 - 1:00 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Bhopal, Dec 20 (ANI): Santa Claus presented gifts and blankets to underprivileged children at a Christmas-eve celebration here on Saturday.
The event was organised by the Christmas forum of Madhya Pradesh.
It is said that 25 years ago Mother Teresa started the custom to celebrate Christmas here by making the poor and the needy smile.
Schooling is free for these deprived children and such gifts are just a token of love and happiness that brings smiles on their faces,,” said Indira Aiyengar, an organiser.
“Our motto is to spread smile and happiness, here around 1,000 people have gathered and for every child there is one blanket and gifts…only because these deprived children will return home happy, this is Christmas for us,” Aiyengar added. (ANI)
