Ahmedabad, Mar 13 (ANI): Telugu actor turned politician Chiranjeevi has geared up for upcoming elections as he has decided to begin his campaign with masks that depict the face of the regional superstar.
Chiranjeevi, Chief of Praja Rajyam party, has placed an order with Ahemdabad-based mask designers for making the masks, which his party workers will wear to propagate him.
“We received message from Chiranjeevi and we met him. We designed something as per his requirements and showed him. He liked it and asked us to go forwards with the work,” said Manish Baradiya, a mask designer.
The designer said that the mask is made of non-toxic material. He said that it takes around 15 to 20 days to prepare one mask and it is a process that includes photo sessions, study of profile and personality.
Chiranjeevi also attended the photo sessions along with the mask making process, to come up with a life-size model of his face, the designer informed.
These designers also made the masks of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2007 that became a huge craze in the state.
“Since we did it for the first time and it brought benefits to the party, so other people also think that this would be beneficial for their party and would give them an edge over their opposition. Thus there are many people who are interested in this,” said Shailendra Shah, another mask designer.
These designers have keenly worked on life-size mask of Chiranjeevi for his election campaign and soon the market in Andhra Pradesh would be flooded with thousands of Chiranjeevi’’s masks to fascinate the voter.
Chiranjeevi launched his political party ”Praja Rajyam” in August 2008. He has acted in about 148 films and his introduction to politics is inspired by former President A P J Abdul Kalam. (ANI)
