Jammu, Jan 31 (ANI) Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram will visit Jammu and Kashmir on February 3 to review the security situation and also to take stock of the political developments in the state.
‘The Home Minister will review the political situation in the valley besides taking inputs of various groups in the state on the report submitted by Kashmir interlocutors to the Centre,” state Congress committee president Saif-ud-Din Soz said.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a rally, Soz said: ” “The interlocutors have submitted reports on Kashmir to the centre. As of now, I have no information on how the Home Minister is responding to the reports. But I am informed that he intends a political discussion over the reports with the Jammu and Kashmir politicos.”
“He (Chidambaram) has visited Jammu and Kashmir on several occasions before, but this time I will be welcoming him,” he added.
Chidamabaram’s earlier plan to visit Jammu and Kashmir had to be rescheduled because of the ‘Ekta Yatra’ by the Bharatiya Janta Party that was foiled by the state government. (ANI)
