Chennai police recovers ancient idol worth fifty million rupees
December 12th, 2009 - 1:22 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Chennai, Dec 12 (ANI): Chennai Police have recovered an ancient idol worth rupees 50 million from three persons suspected to be a part of an international mafia here.
Acting on information, sleuths of the Tamil Nadu Police (Economic Offences Wing) intercepted three persons at the Chennai Airport pretending to be prospective buyers.
The seized idol, weighing around 250 grams, is an ancient Shiva Lingam. It has been identified as one that belonged to the Thirukaravasal Thyagaraya Swamy temple in Thiruvarur District. (ANI)
