Hyderabad, Nov 30 (ANI): A shutdown has been called by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) in the Telangana region on Monday after party president K Chandrasekhar Rao was arrested while going to Siddipet to start a fast-unto-death for a separate Telangana.

Rao and other TRS leaders squatted by the roadside after his convoy was stopped by police.

Rao has been demanding the creation of a separate Telangana state for years.

According to police, Rao was first taken to Warangal, but later shifted to Khammam for security reasons.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government has deployed the Rapid Action Force (RAF), Greyhounds in ten districts of the Telangana region to prevent untoward incidents. (ANI)
