Centre takes up Rahul Gandhi’s security breach issue with UP Govt.

New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): The Central Government has sought a report from the Uttar Pradesh Government on the reported security breach of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi during his recent Allahabad visit.
According to reports, the Ministry of Home Affairs has also sought a report from the Special Protection Group (SPG) team that was covering the scion of the Gandhi family.
Meanwhile, expressing serious concern over the security lapse, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) issuing a warning to the State Government said the lapse was deliberate and due to political reasons.
The Samajwadi Party youth wing activists, who staged a demonstration in Allahabad on January 10 to protest Gandhi’s visit attempted to breach the security by jumped in front of his vehicle.
Gandhi was on his way to Anand Bhavan, the ancestral house of the Nehru-Gandhis, for an overnight stay after an interaction at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), when the incident took place.
The SPG guards accompanying Rahul Gandhi had to push back some of the protesters, who were waving black flags and shouting slogans against him and the Congress. (ANI)
