Centre files affidavit in Reliance Gas distribution case
July 17th, 2009 - 3:07 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, July 17 (ANI): The Union Government filed an affidavit in connection with the Reliance Gas distribution case on Friday.
The Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) led by Mukesh Ambani and the Reliance Natural Resources Limited (RNRL) of Anil Ambani are at loggerheads over the ownership of gas field in the Krishna -Godavari Basin in Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier on July 12, Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora had reiterated that gas in the Krishna - Godavari Basin belongs to the government and not to either of the Ambani brothers who are battling it out in court.
Deora refused to comment on the matter as it is before the court. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minster Y.S. Rajshekhsr Reddy said gas in the Krishna -Godavari Basin would be allotted to the states by the centre and not by the Ambani brothers.
Reddy critically said that the sharing of Krishna Godavari gas is not a family issue, but rather a matter that should be resolved by the Central Government. (ANI)
