Hyderabad, Mar10 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday took into custody Satyams founder Ramalinga Raju and four other accused for interrogation.
According to police officials, the accused were picked up from the Chanchalguda Jail at 9.30 a.m.
The Fourteenth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate S. Samuel Victor Emmanuel on Monday sent all the accused to CBI custody for seven days from Tuesday.
Besides Raju and his brother Rama Raju, the CBI would also be quizzing the companys former Chief financial officer (CFO) Vadlamani Srinivas and audit house Price Waterhouses partners S. Gopalkrishnan and Talluri Srinivas in connection with Satyam-fraud case.
On March 3, the CBI had filed a petition seeking seven days custody of Raju brothers, former Satyam CFO V. Srinivas and the two sacked auditors of PwC, which audited Satayms accounts.
On February 20, the CBI had constituted a multi-disciplinary investigation team for the probe.
On January 7, Ramalinga Raju confessed to fraudulent manipulation of accounts over several years by inflating the companys profits and assets. (ANI)
