Catholic priest claims cannabis field in backyard a gift from God!

Melbourne, Aug 30 (ANI): A catholic priest, who claims that his back yard full of cannabis plants is a gift from God, has been placed under constant surveillance by police.

Father Cyril Papudov, of Petrich, Bulgaria, has been arrested seven times but police have never caught him actually cultivating the crop.

He insists that the cannabis seeded by itself and is part of God’’s gift of nature and nothing to do with him.

There has been a great deal of suspicion over the years about what is going on with these plants, Daily Telegraph quoted police, as saying.

“He is a man of the cloth and so a lot of people don”t want to think badly of him but frankly if someone has a huge crop of cannabis in their back garden it’’s highly unlikely they are just sitting there admiring its horticultural properties,” the police added.

They are now planning a 24-hour surveillance on the priest

“By keeping a watch on the plants we can make sure this is the case and put an end to any suspicions over the purpose of these plants once and for all, ” the police said. (ANI)

Well at least he is not molesting little boys or messing around with congregation members. These police need to get a life and the priest is right. Plants grow naturally on their own. This is one of the many things police get sidetracked on and waste tax dollars on. You are there to get real criminals and not people who harm not one human. Obviously you have no purpose but to be an annoyance so maybe you need to go to church and find out how to behave. What pointless creatures to disturb nature and prolong justice for real criminals who hurt people!!! They are ridiculous and only good for picking up the garbage from bins and your front yards. You need real brave heroes that do their jobs not a bunch of pudgy bullies.

this is honestly funny. the priest has some trees in the backyard growing probably has his states medical cannabis card to legally grow it. but since he is of religion they think he is a criminal like molestors. not all people are molestors/rapists or criminals just because they use cannabis. However it’s sad that the world does have rapists/molestors but justice gets served. as for cannabis as long as the priest isn’t giving mj to kids then it’s okay.

Get a grip! You’ve been busting our butts since cannabis prohibition started on Sept 28, 1928.

    This total dishonesty is laughable.

Gee, I can’t stop laughing at this article - it’s so funny and it’s made my day!

Tell you what, cops - you keep watching these plants, and by the time you’ve finished trying to figure out what the purpose of these plants is, me and my buddies will have campaigned so hard and legalized them, so that you won’t have any need to watch them any more and then you can get on the streets and start arresting murderers, rapists and child molesters.

How does that sound for good common sense policing?

Keeping a watch on plants, indeed - get out there and earn your salaries!

Father Cyril Papudov is right! Genesis 1:11 and 1:29 not only substantiates the Father’s claim that indeed herb bearing seed (which cannabis is) is a gift from God; Genesis 1:31 confirms that He (God) thought it very good.
We can look to Psalms 104:14 and here we see that herb was meant for the service of man. So when God provides a gift that He not only vouches for in writing but was also meant for the service of man, what is so difficult to understand?
