Campaigning gains momentum for fourth phase of West Bengal polls

Mamata Banerjee Kolkata, Apr 30 (ANI): Campaigning is in full swing in all the 63 seats spread over Howrah, Hooghly, East Midnapore and parts of Burdwan districts for the fourth phase of West Bengal polls, which is scheduled to be held on May 3.The Election Commission has appointed Bihar Chief Electoral Officer as a special observer for the fourth phase of elections. Addressing an election rally at Arambag in Hooghly district, West Bengal Chief Minister Budhadeb Bhattacharjee stated that there will be no compromise with respect to the rapid industrialisation of the state.He said there would not be another Singur if the Left Front Government was again voted to power. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has promised to transform Nandigram into an industrial park that would create thousands of jobs. Addressing a rally in Nandigram, Banerjee also promised new schools and colleges for students and every possible development for the upliftment of the region.”Whatever Nandigram needs, will be provided. This is a movement, which cannot be forgotten, and this is an example for everyone. If needed, I will sacrifice my life for the people of this region,” Banerjee said.She described Nandigram as the land of freedom and the land that has made ‘parivartan’ or change in Bengal a reality.Of the six phased elections in West Bengal, three have been completed on April 18, 23 and 27.The fourth phase will take place on May 3, the fifth on May 7 and sixth on May 10.
