BSP students forum to stage protest on July 21
July 19th, 2008 - 8:35 pm ICT by ANI New Delhi, July 19 (ANI): The Bahujan Students” Front (BSF) today announced that it would stage a demonstration in the capital on Monday to protest discrimination against Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Religious Minorities students in institutions of higher education.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the BSF said it would also demand reservations in faculty positions in these institutions during the event.
It said that thousands of students from all parts of the country would participate in the rally and demonstration.
It said that the rally would start from Ambedkar Stadium and proceed towards Parliament passing through the centre of the city.
Along the way, a number of prominent BSF leaders representing institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology, Jawaharlal Nehru University, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia University and many other academic institutions from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, would address the participants, the statement said.
