BSF soldier injured in Poonch ceasefire violation
May 2nd, 2010 - 1:23 pm ICT by ANIPoonch (Jammu and Kashmir), May 2 (ANI): A Border Security Force (BSF) soldier was injured in firing at Krishnaghati in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch District after Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire.
The incident took place at around 8 p.m. on Saturday, after Pakistani troops opened fire on the Chajja, Man, Gorha, Kranti posts, in the Krishnaghati area, along the Line of Control (LoC).
Besides small arms, machine gun fire was also heard. The BSF returned the fire.
This is the second ceasefire violation within a day.
Pakistani troops had earlier opened fired in Ramgarh district in Samba. One terrorist was injured, after four terrorists tried to cross the International Border. Three fled back after BSF personnel opened fire.
The ceasefire between India and Pakistan has been in force since November 26, 2003. (ANI)
