British envoy on three-day Kashmir trip
May 28th, 2010 - 9:13 pm ICT by IANSSrinagar, May 28 (IANS) British High Commissioner to India, Sir Richard Stagg arrived here Friday on a three-day visit to Kashmir during which he will meet various political leaders.
After his arrival here, Stagg called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
“In an hour long meeting, the two discussed various socio-economic and political developments in the state,” an official statement here said.
The high commissioner was later scheduled to meet Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, chairman of the moderate Hurriyat group.
Sources here said Stagg will also meet Mehbooba Mufti, leader of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), during his stay.
