Brit girl barred from school bus because shes not Catholic!July 5th, 2008 - 1:21 pm ICT by ANI
London, July 5 (ANI): A British girl has been stopped from boarding the bus to her school because she is not a Roman Catholic.
15-year-old Jessica Millest travels 18 miles every day to get to class at St Marys RC school on time. However, she has now been told by the local council she will not be able to use the school bus because shes not religious.
And thats despite her family shelving out a 120 pounds per term for the bus journey.
Jessica, from Linton, Herefordshire, is understandably a little upset.
Non-religious people are seen as non-entitled. It seems discriminatory to me, The Sun quoted her, as saying.
Her dad Simon Millest, 46, added: I cannot understand how Herefordshire Council can make decisions based on faith.
The council spokesman admitted that Jessica will not be allowed to use the bus.
We have reorganised the route to make a more efficient service, bearing in mind the council tax payer picks up the bill. As of September we wont be able to offer any vacant seats on the bus, he said. (ANI)
