Bravery is not necessarily displayed by means of violence: Salman Khan
January 19th, 2010 - 10:02 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Jan 19(ANI): Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who is in the national capital to promote his forthcoming movie ‘Veer’, on Tuesday shared his thoughts on bravery by saying that it is not necessarily displayed by means of violence.
Addressing a function hosted by All India Anti-Terrorist Front, Salman said: “I am travelling to various states in order to honour the brave people from across the country.”
“Veer doesn’t mean that you have to fight with the swords or go to the battlefield with the rifle. If you can sort out anything without a sword or a gun then we should sort it out that way,” Salman said
Also present at the function, President of All India Anti-Terrorist Front, Maninder Singh Bitta, said that their forum is instituting Anti-Terrorism Veer awards, which will be conferred on those who lay down their lives for the country and the society.
“We have made an announcement that every year Anti-Terror Veer awards will be given to those brave people who lay down their lives, for those who sacrifice their lives for the country,” Bitta said.
Directed by Anil Sharma, the film ‘Veer’ is a love story of a warrior belonging to the Pindari clan when the British ruled India in the 19th century.
The film is scheduled to hit the screen, nationwide on this Friday. (ANI)
