Nagpur, Mar 1 (ANI): The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Sunday received a set back after its Nagpur District President Manikrao Vaidya resigned to join the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Vaidya decided to quit BJP after his party declared the candidature of former MP Banwarilal Purohit for Lok Sabha polls.

Vaidya sent his papers to BJP State President Nitin Gadkari.

BJP has preferred the minority candidate Banwarilal Purohit instead of other backward community (OBC) candidate, Manikrao Vaidya.

Vaidya would now be contesting the LS polls from here on a BSP ticket.

Veer Singh, the BSPs incharge of party affairs of Maharashtra, announced Vaidyas candidature from Nagpur Lok Sabha seat. (ANI)
