Mumbai, Mar 5 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit president Nitin Gadkari on Thursday objected to a Sena leaders comments that his party would back Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar for the prime ministerial post.

I have just heard the remarks made by the Sena spokesperson that his party would support a Marathi person for the prime ministerial post. The Sena should make up its mind because earlier they backed BJP leader L. K. Advani for the post, Gadkari said.

The BJP leader stated that then Sena-BJP alliance could not proceed if Sena did not clear its stand.

The Sena had given commitment to support Advani. If there is a change in that partys policy. If this is their agenda now, the Sena-BJP alliance cannot proceed, he said.

Gadkari also asserted the BJP would not object if the Sena wanted to go with Pawar.

If the Sena wants to go with Pawar, we wont object. But they should make their position clear on the issue of whom will they support for the Prime Ministerial post, he said. (ANI)
