Ahmedabad, Dec.8 (ANI): In an open letter to the Election Commission, the Gujarat unit of the BJP, i today sought action against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party leader Digvijay Singh, following its complaint to the constitutional body on December 2.
The letter, which was published in vernacular newspapers by Jayantilal S Barot, General Secretary, the state BJP said: ”The entire country and BJP as a complainant want to know as to why the Election Commission has not so far taken any action against Sonia and Singh.”
The complaint comes in the wake of the remarks made by Sonia Gandhi at a rally in South Gujarat, where she referred to the state government as ”merchants of death”.
The letter also questioned the right of Sonia and Digvijay Singh to talk about the ”existence of Hindu terrorism in Gujarat”.
The Election Commission was charged with not being independent or impartial. (ANI)
