Patna, Mar 2 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said that the State would become a developed State of the country if there will be some changes in the work atmosphere and perception of the people.

Nitish was speaking on the occasion of flagging off of run for development event.

“The atmosphere and perception of people in the state have tremendously changed and people are now showing interest to ensure all-round growth,” Nitish said at the Raj Bhavan.

Around 5, 000 people participated in the run that aimed at the development of the State.

Hundreds of students, youth, bureaucrats, women, farmers and Army personnel took part in the programme organised by Bihar Industries’ Association.
“The response to the programme establishes that the State will soon figure in the list of developed states,” Nitish said.

He said the purpose of the run was to ensure active participation of all sections of people in the development of the State.

“This run for development is a cultural event which is aimed at the development of Bihar. It signifies that people from all walks of life are bound to work towards the development of their state,” Nitish said.

Bihar is considered to be India’s poorest and one of its slowest economically growing States.

Bihar has a population of around 90 million people and it has one-seventh of the countrys poor, but accounts for just 1.6 percent of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The World Bank put the challenge in its most tactful terms when lending Bihar’s Government 225 million dollars last December. (ANI)
