Bihar to get Rs.13.35 Crores for building roads in rural areas
December 7th, 2009 - 4:52 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 7 (ANI): The Ministry of Rural Development has released grant in aid worth Rs. thirteen crore thirty five lakh to the National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC) for construction of rural roads in Bihar under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
The sum is towards as the agency fees for construction of rural roads in Bihar.
National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC) is one of the nodal agencies for the implementation of the PMGSY in Bihar subsequent to a tripartite agreement between the NPCC, the Bihar State Rural Development Department and the Union Ministry of Rural Development.
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is a 100 per cent centrally sponsored scheme to provide road connectivity in the rural areas of the country.
PMGSY envisages connectivity to all habitations with a population of 500 persons and above in the rural areas and about 250 persons and above in respect of the hill states, tribal areas and desert areas through good and all weather roads. (ANI)
