Bihar Police unearth arms, ammunition ahead of assembly polls

Munger (Bihar), Oct.7 (ANI): Ahead of state assembly elections in Bihar, police have unearthed illegal arms and ammunitions.
The police have recovered 76 country-made pistols from the house of arms smuggler Mohammad Shamshad in Munger District.
M. Sunil Nayak, Superintendent of Police, Munger, said the value of the seized weapons was estimated to be around 10.5 million rupees.
Four illegal weapons manufacturing units were also raided in Munger.
The police have so far uncovered 13 illegal gun factories across Bihar. They have also seized 353 weapons, 10,230 live cartridges, ten can bombs, 1500 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, 2025 kg of other explosive materials and 1,69,512 detonators.
Bihar is ruled by Janata Dal (United), with the support of Bharatiya Janata Party.
The state will elect a new 243-seat assembly in a six-phased polling exercise from October 21 to November 20.
The legislative elections would be held in 56,943 polling stations spread across the state, in which over 55 million people are expected to vote. (ANI)
