Benazirs assassination a blow to Pakistans democratic process: IndiaDecember 27th, 2007 - 10:04 pm ICT by admin
New Delhi, Dec 27 (ANI): Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma today said that the assassination of former Pakistans Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto is a blow to the democratic process in that country.
He said that India is shocked and saddened over Bhuttos untimely and violent end to her promising political career. It happened at time when people in Pakistan were looking up to her, Sharma said, adding that she has a huge stature in her country.
He said there were no words to condemn the abominable attack. He also expressed his condolences to the relatives and supporters of Benazir.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Bhutto, 54, was assassinated on Thursday during a suicide attack on a party rally in Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh area. (ANI)
