Shillong, Oct.24 (ANI): Young models from the seven States of the north-east recently had a chance to showcase their latent talent during a Northeast Beauty Pageant held here.
And by all accounts, those who saw them during the event, felt that they could earn a name in pageants in Delhi or Mumbai.
Hundreds of fashion conscious youngsters thronged the event, as it was held after many years here.
The youngsters at the fashion show said that such events offer a big opportunity to the fashion conscious youth to showcase their talent.
Mary Stella, a member of the audiences, said: The pageant motivates all of us to promote ourselves on the regional and national stage.”
The winner in the pageant was Assams Stuti Choudhary, runner up was Manipurs Linthoinganbi Laoshram. Laila Kharkaongor of Meghalaya finished as the second runner-up in the competition.
Laila Kharkaongor, on the occasion, said: The experience has really boosted my confidence and that of my service team members. I have made many friends here. I will cherish their friendship. This title will be something, which I would like to uphold and become a role model to many young girls.”
The models from the north-east have distinguished themselves in the past too. Models like Esther Jamir, Esther Konayak and many others from this region, went on to earn name and fame at national level. (ANI)
