Mumbai, Sep 24(ANI): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday renegotiated its deal with the event management company IMG and succeeded in scaling down the annual fees to be paid to the latter for staging the high-profile Indian Premier League.

President of BCCI Shashank Manohar said this after a meeting at Mumbai.

He also informed that the BCCI would now pay Rs 270 million to IMG, Rs 60 million less than the amount last year.

“They both approved the deal between the IMG and BCCI wherein IMG had reduced their value and now the deal stands at Rs 270 million per year,” Manohar said.

Another important decision that was endorsed at the meeting was about the venue for the first one day international between India and Australia to be played in October.

Now, the venue stands shifted from Jaipur to Baroda in Gujarat, considering the long-standing dispute between two rival groups of the Rajasthan Cricket Association.

“With regard to the Rajasthan match, we both took a decision looking to the dispute in the Rajasthan Cricket Association. W have taken the decision to shift the one day international between India and Australia from Jaipur to Baroda,” Manohar added.

It may be recalled that the BCCI had annulled its contract with IMG over a payment row for the second edition of the IPL after the firm had asked a fee of Rs 330 million.

The renewed contract is part of the original ten-year deal, effective from the 2008-09 season. (ANI)
