BCCI holds meeting ahead of IPL Governing Council
April 25th, 2010 - 5:14 pm ICT by ANIMumbai, Apr 25 (ANI): The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) bigwigs held a meeting on Sunday ahead of Monday’s crucial meeting of the Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
BCCI president Shashank Manohar, secretary N Srinivasan, chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty and IPL vice-chairman Niranjan Shah were present during the meeting.
Today’s meeting was informal in nature and was held at the board’s headquarters in Mumbai.
The IPL Governing Council, which is meeting on Monday, would decide on the fate of its Commissioner Lalit Modi, who is at the centre of IPL-Gate controversy.
Barely 24 hours left for the meeting, Modi has been sticking to his tweeted view.
Posting a comment on social networking site twitter on Saturday, Modi had refused to step down despite allegations of financial irregularities.
There is intense speculation that Modi is set to be sacked in Monday’s meeting as council members and the BCCI is reportedly upset with the income tax mess that the IPL finds itself in. (ANI)
