Bangalore cake exhibition ahead of Christmas lures visitors
December 19th, 2009 - 2:34 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Bangalore, Dec 19 (ANI): Keeping in mind the upcoming Christmas celebrations, an amusing exhibition of giant size cakes modelled on landmarks opened in Bangalore on Friday (December 18).
At the Nilgiris’ 35th annual cake exhibition, the creamy models of the Taj Mahal and a battleship are drawing attention of the visitors.
The battleship stood 40 feet in length and 12 feet in height.
The sugarcoated cake models have consumed 500 tons of sugar and gelatin.
The exhibition has carved its way into the Limca book of records.
“This year we have made Taj Mahal and battleships as a centerpiece. We have used sugar and gelatin for creating these models. There are 25 people with me working for past two and half months,” said Ramchandran, an organiser.
The visitors had a tough time appreciating the cakes as they held back their mouth-watering tongues.
“Every year I come here to see this exhibition and moreover the flowers made with sugar and all, it’s all very creative work. It is a fantastic exhibition,” said Mamta, a cake lover.
Later, the cake models would be auctioned and also offered to orphanages as a gift from Santa Claus. (ANI)
