Bal Thackeray says Sena-BJP will come to power in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Oct 13 (ANI): Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Tuesday said the Sena-BJP alliance will come to power in the state after Assembly elections.
Talking to reporters after casting his vote at a polling booth in suburban Bandra, Thackeray said: “Maharashtra will see the exit of the Congress-NCP government and the ushering in of the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance.”
Thackeray’s son Uddhav his wife Rashmi and son Aditya accompanied him to the polling booth.MNS chief Raj Thackeray also cast his vote at a polling booth at Balmohan Vidyamandir in central Mumbai’s Dadar area.
Around 21 per cent polling was reported in the first four hours of voting for the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly.
For the Maharashtra Assembly, 3,559 contestants, including 211 women and 1,820 Independents are in the fray. Most of the Independent candidates are rebels from the Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party and other parties.
Meanwhile, In Haryana, at least 10 percent of the voters exercised their franchise in the first three hours of polling for 90 assembly constituencies.
For the Haryana Assembly, 1,222 candidates, including 67 women and 461 Independents, are in the race.
In Arunachal Pradesh, polling for 57 assembly seats is progressing peacefully. In the first four hours, around 35 per cent voters have exercised their franchise. (ANI)
