Bailable warrant issued against Sanjay Dutt

Mau (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 27 (ANI): A bailable warrant has been issued against actor Sanjay Dutt by a local court for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by making communal remarks in an election rally during the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
Judicial Magistrate Krishna Kumar, who heard the matter on Saturday, issued the warrant and fixed May 28 as the next date of hearing into the case.
According to reports, Dutt, who campaigned for Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Arshad Jamal in the district during the polls, had said in a meeting that he was given third degree when he was in police custody, as his mother was a Muslim. (ANI)
