Attacks may recur till terror infrastructure exists in Pak: Govt.

New Delhi, March 3 (ANI): The Government here on Tuesday reiterated its stance that Pakistan needs to dismantle terror infrastructure from its soil, as terrorism based in that country is a “grave” threat to the entire world and such acts could stop only after Islamabad takes “prompt” and “decisive” steps.

Underlining that it is in Islamabad’’s own interest to destroy the facilities for terror and bring such perpetrators to justice, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee asked it to focus on this aspect rather than diverting attention of world community to other issues.

“Attack on Sri Lankan team is highly condemnable. What clearly emerges from this…(is) unless the infrastructure and facilities that are available to terrorist organisations within Pakistan are completely dismantled and perpetrators of terrorist attacks are brought to justice, repetition of these incidents will take place,” Mukherjee during a joint press interaction with the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Ivailo Kalfin in the capital.

Mukherjee said it would be difficult to check terror attacks like in Mumbai and Lahore till facilities for perpetrators behind such acts exist in Pakistan.

“Once again we would request Pakistani authorities and others not to divert attention of the international community but to address this problem and dismantle infrastructure of terrorism available there and take strict measures against perpetrators of these attacks,” Mukherjee said.
