Assam Police nab top ULFA leader
November 20th, 2008 - 7:55 pm ICT by ANI - Send to a friend: Sibsagar (Assam), Nov.20 (ANI): Police in Sibsagar, Assam, have arrested a top ULFA leader Ram Singh.
Shymal Prasad Saikia, the area’’s Superintendent of Police, said that Singh had taken shelter with his wife and four-month-old son at a relative’’s house in Bakhor Bengena village, when a joint team of army and police apprehended him on Tuesday night.
He and his family, besides a relative Atul Buragohain, are presently being interrogated, he said.
Trained from Kachin in Myanmar, Singh was a terror in upper Assam. He was also a bomb expert. (ANI)
