Assam police arrest three ULFA members
June 27th, 2010 - 12:20 pm ICT by ANIGuwahati, June 27 (ANI): The Assam Police Special Branch has arrested three members of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) here.
The arrest took place on Saturday evening.
After a prolonged surveillance, the police personnel nabbed these militants.
“Yesterday, we arrested three members of the ULFA here in Guwahati. Their interrogation is on and after their interrogation only, we can give you some information,” said Pallab Bhattarcharjee, Inspector General of Police, Guwahati Range.
Bhattarcharjee said that police have seized sim cards, laptops, ATM cards and some incriminating documents from the arrested ULFA cadres.
“A laptop, some sim cards and some documents have been seized from them. We can speak about it only after proper forensic examination,” he added.
Reportedly, one of them has direct contacts with the commander-in-chief of ULFA, Paresh Baruah. (ANI)
