Assam Government alerts BSF on Jehadi entry
March 7th, 2008 - 1:44 pm ICT by admin - Send to a friend:Agartala, Mar7 (ANI): The Assams Minister for Forest, Rockybul Hussain told the State Assembly today that he had the Border Security Force (BSF) and the State Police to remain alert to the possible entry of Jehadi groups from Bangladesh.
The Government has definite proof of Jehadi groups setting up their headquarters in Bangladesh and all their activities were being directed from there. The State Government has decided to increase the number of police stations and out-posts in the border belts to counter the threat posed by these Jehadi groups, Hussain said.
Additional Director General of BSF (East) U K Bansal had earlier said, International terrorist organisations have been using Indo-Bangladesh border as their corridor for entering India.
The BSF is well equipped with the most-modern electronic gadgets like floodlights, thermal and satellite imageries, different radars and night vision devices to tackle the problem. (ANI)
