Tehran, Nov 17 (ANI): Iranian and Italian archeologists have found clues about the daily life of people living near Persepolis in Iran during the Achaemenid Dynasty.

The world-renowned historic city of Persepolis is located 70 kilometers northeast of the city of Shiraz in Irans southern province of Fars.

According to a report by Press TV, a detailed scientific study into the daily life of ordinary people living near Persepolis has been carried out for the first time, revealing that the area has been permanently occupied since the Achaemenid era.

The international study of the site has been headed by Alireza Asgari and Professor Pierfrancesco Callieri of the University of Bologna.

Among the unique discoveries made by the archeological team, are Achaemenid statues colored red, white and black, as well as half of a silver coin belonging to the post-Achaemenid era and bronze jewelry.

Glazed pottery in various colors including green, buff, red and gray were also unearthed during the excavations along with stone tools.

Archeologists are now hoping to estimate the exact age of the artifacts using scientific dating procedures. (ANI)
