Antony to review army’s preparedness along western borders
April 29th, 2011 - 6:29 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Apr 29 (ANI): Defence Minister A.K Antony will visit Rajasthan on Monday to review the operational preparedness of the Army along the Western borders.
He will visit the forward most locations and interact with the personnel deployed there.
Chief of the Army Staff, General VK Singh, Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar and senior military and civil officials will accompany the minister.
He will be briefed at one of the forward locations about the infrastructure created and that which is required along the Western borders.
Antony will also visit Jaisalmer military station, where he will be briefed by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Lieutenant General AK Singh about the operational preparedness and issues relating to Southern Command.
He will also address and interact with the troops during a special Sainik Sammelan and Community Meal (Barakhana). (ANI)
