- Vizag, Oct. 16 (ANI): Just a day after leaving 40 passengers stranded at the Vizag airport for 24 hours, another Air India flight enroute to Chennai reportedly developed a technical snag and its 50 passengers were stranded at Vizag airport.
Air India flight IC 7601 took off from Vizag at 1145 hours was halfway to Chennai, when it was forced to return to the Vizag airport due to a reported engine failure.
On Wednesday, Air India didn’t even provide a replacement aircraft following the discovery of a technical snag in its craft.
The passengers were offloaded twice. The flight originates in Chennai and has a stop at Vizag. Only passengers, who boarded from Chennai, were provided accommodation.
According to latest reports, the passengers were asked to fly to Hyderabad, from where they could board a flight to Delhi. It irked many of the stranded passengers.
“From six hours we were pleading them to give us some other flight. We have wanted to go, but we had so many inconveniences. They did not even provide us with water or any other kind of necessities. It has been over a day now and we do not have any information about which flight we are going in,” a stranded passenger said.
The passengers also slammed the airline management’s crisis management efforts. (ANI)
