Anne Hathaway’’s ex cant stomach stinky jail conditionsNovember 13th, 2008 - 6:02 pm ICT by ANI
New York, Nov 13 (ANI): Actress Anne Hathaway’’s ex Raffaello Follieri has complained about dire jail conditions, insisting it to be “unspeakably unsanitary.”
The 30-year-old Italian real estate developer has been sentenced to 4 1/2-years for duping investors out of millions with bogus claims of being a Vatican insider.
In a letter to a Manhattan federal judge, Follieris lawyer Flora Edwards revealed that rats roam freely in jail, there’’s excrement in the shower and Follieri shares a windowless dorm with 120 other shower-deprived men.
“He says the stench is intolerable. Clearly no one should be subjected to these conditions,” the New York Daily News quoted Edwards as writing.
Follieri hasn”t been able to eat because the food appears to be spoiled and the toilet and showers are “unspeakably unsanitary,” she said, adding that Follieri has been running a fever.
Edwards asked Judge John Koeltl to return Follieri to Manhattan’’s Metropolitan Correctional Centre.
Follieri also complained that his medication has been confiscated and that he’’s been short of breath.
He was pleaded guilty to bankrolling an affluent lifestyle that included trips with Hathaway to exotic locales on private jets, a dog walker and 37,000 dollars-a-month rent for his Fifth Avenue apartment with money stolen from investors. (ANI)
