Anna supporters picket Congress MP’s Jammu home
August 23rd, 2011 - 6:47 pm ICT by IANSJammu, Aug 23 (IANS) Around 50 supporters of Anna Hazare held a demonstration outside the house of Congress MP Madan Lal Sharma here, responding to the call of the activist to hold such protests.
The people, carrying the national flag and placards, raised slogans against the central government. They also voiced their support for the Jan Lokpal bill.
Madan Lal Sharma, who is Lok Sabha member from Jammu-Poonch parliamentary constituency, was not in his house at Muthi, on the outskirts of the city, a policeman posted there said.
A police contingent was present to prevent any untoward incident. However, the demonstrators dispersed peacefully after around half-an-hour.
