London, Apr 30 (ANI): English singer songwriter Amy Winehouse has decided to take control of her 10million pounds fortune and start her own record label, in a bid to become more independent.

Winehouse has been making secret plans with her new man Alex Haines and close aides, to quit Island Records after her next album.

For the first time in her career, Amy is beginning to have her head turned by the cash she can make, the Sun quoted a pal of hers as saying.

“Its never been a huge deal in the past, but she is beginning to realize everyone else is making all the money out of her success.

Her deal with Island ends after the next record. Thats why they are trying to get her to clean up first and make sure its a classic, the pal said.

Once she gets that out she wants to set up her own label. She plans to release her own material on it, as well as her mates like Tyler James and Remi Nicole.

Shes been planning it with Alex, who has a bit of music know-how from working as her managers assistant, the pal added.

The whole project has been viewed as a chance for Amy to take control of her cash, and she has even spoken to financial advisers on how to keep her jailed hubby Blake Fielder-Civil from getting any of the cash.

Fielder-Civil had, as revealed by the Sun on Apr 29, made a demand for a 3million pounds settlement, after Winehouse dumped him last week.

The Rehab singer has also discussed taking control of her finances from her dad Mitch, who is currently giving her only a modest income to live on.

Winehouse might even be given a chance by her bosses at Universal, Islands parent company, to set up the label under their name, with a big royalties deal. (ANI)
